OK. Sorry, you're right. I misunderstood you!
The “Consist for Activities” window won't open. I've now tried the setting.txt file from the Trainsim.Com Fork v0.8.005, but the error persists. In 0.8.005, opening the routes works.

OK, I found the issue with the activity consists and route dropdown -- it was related to how the B&O West End illegitimate activity and service files were being skipped.

I'll have a new testing version out later tonight.

Also made a couple changes to how include files were being read after chatting a bit on Discord with pschlik about nested includes.

Will need to ask a few folks to look at that within the Consist Editor to see if the values you have in your includes are correctly rendering vs. what's in the MSTS eng/wag files.

You probably uploaded the wrong version. The current Trainsim.Com Fork v0.8.005j does not have a Start menu.

Make sure startapp isn't set to a value in your settings file... or change it to M

I just tested the download in a clean directory (no settings file) and the loader menu appears.

I think you're correct, Jan. Not only does it load as 5j, it also has the consist.bat separate so that you cannot select it in the startup menu like you could in 6h

Odd. Looks like I did grab the wrong file for attaching... Re-uploaded.

I'll likely have a version K out later tonight that folds in a few other things.

Version 8.006k is up and available. Minor changes but hopefully helpful...

In the status window, I've added the keystroke needed to activate a tool. Muscle memory takes practice, and while I know these by rote, most people new to TSRE will have little to no idea what they are.

Hello, as a regular user, just wanting a somewhat stable route editor (no experiments), am I supposed to use v8.006k or v8.005RC?

It's all experimental, but v8.005RC has been out for over a year.

                        Hello!

Recently loaded v. 006k from the first post here and noticed that it crashes when I am trying to pick or load any terrain texture.
Seems this problem doesn't depend on the route. Nothing suspicious in the log file also, just a few undo loops started after loading the route.
Tested on two laptops under Windows 10.

There is no such problem when I am loading textures in the same routes with v. 005y.

Navigating the world in 006k seems to be even faster, placing and editing objects works fine also.

                            TSRE5 v8.006k

I'm facing an issue. So I put my hgt files in their correct folders, I created my gpx files. Then I opened TSRE5 > Geo > check Create new tiles if not exist and Create terrain from Geodata. Tiles from Marker file: mygeo.gpx and finally click on Generate tiles using MKR.

                            1) The terrain is generated successfully.
                            2) However, the current (starting) tile is still flat and overlapping over the DEM data tile. WTF???!
                            3) When I try to click on Load Map, it only works on that flat starting tile. Any other tile, doesn't work. I click on Load Map > click any other tile with DEM data and nothing appears.

I've tried: Stick Camera to Terrain (/) and zoomed in to the absolute max possible. Again, this option only works for the starting flat tile. For the other DEM data based tiles, I can't find the "crust / level surface", if that makes sense.

Try changing use quadtree in your settings to the opposite of whatever value you have it set to.

I have only .ACE terrain textures. Existing terrain is displayed correctly.

The problem occurs when I press F2 (terrain tools) and then try to pick or load a texture in texture selector for repainting terrain.
