    Pocohontas Route question please?

    Hi everybody.

Has anybody please had any problems loading the "Pocohontas Route"

Today, I have DownloadedThe Following Route Files:-

    "NW_Pokey_20" "nwpokey2.0_fix_1.0" & "nwpokey2.0_fix_1.1"

but the first file "NW_Pokey_20" only loads for a short while then stops with a Load Error.

This looks like an Interesting route, but no good If It won't load!

    Any help or suggestions please?

    Thanks

    Paul.

    Hi Paul,
Can you please explain at what point you have that 'Load Error'?
I have just downloaded NW_Pokey_20.zip without any problem.
Unpacked the .zip file using 7Zip, again, with no problem.
There is no mention in the documentation regarding which tracks to install, but I suspect that XTracks/ATracks may be required. New roads is mentioned in passing, so that may also be required.
The unpacked size of the route is 12.4GB so, perhaps, you've run out of space?
If you mean that Open Rails gives the error, then note that the download is only the route and has no activities. Did you add it into your ORTSContent ROUTES sub-folder?

    Cheers,
    Ged

      Hi Ged.

The last time I tried to load It, it went as far as 15 or 16%. then with the same Message as below.

This time It won't load at all, creating message:-

      Error: 0x80004005 unspecified error -07340668_6_5
      Type Ace File

Yes I did extract It to ORTSContent ROUTES.

      Thanks

      Paul.

        Hi Paul,
        Load it into what??
That is a Windows generic error message which could have a number of causes, including permissions, anti-virus, system file corruption.
What did you use to extract the route - Windows Explorer archiver or 7Zip or something else?
Have you looked in your ORTSContent folder/ROUTES sub-folder? Does it contain a folder called N&W Pokey 2.0 ?

        Cheers,
        Ged

          .Ged.

Not sure what you mean. XTracks/ATracks /NewRoads are already Installed. already have 10 Routes + the Default Routes working under this new System.

I am trying to Install NW_Pokey_20 Into ORTSContent routes but It's not loading long enough for it to go into ORTSContent ROUTES

            Hi Paul,
You haven't told us which unzipper you are using. I recommend 7Zip every time over the Explorer archiver!

It sounds as if you are trying to unzip it directly into your ROUTES. If you are using 7Zip, I suggest that you select "Extract Here", which will create a folder named NW_Pokey_20 in the same folder as the .zip file; open this folder to show a ROUTES folder and a .txt file. Open the ROUTES folder and copy the "N&W Pokey 2.0" folder into your ORTSContent/ROUTES folder.

            Cheers,
            Ged

              Just an unrelated FYI

It took me 7 attempts to get a clean download of the reworked MILW route recently. 4 attempts bombed part way through, a 5th attempt involving a pause/restart attempt within Firefox failed when the restart did not happen properly. A 6th attempt resulted in a complete file, but there were bad terrtexes found upon unzipping and it ended with a message that the archive was bad, and a 7th attempt that came down cleanly and unzipped fine.

Is there a recent handshaking issue surfacing between library and various clients?

                  Hi Paul

I use 7zip and extracted it into my Pocohontas mini install last December with no problems. You might have got a damaged download, it happens sometimes. Just delete the copy you have and go get the route again.

                    Hi Mervyn, your probably right.

I deleted the Route and the Zip File, re-Downloaded it and Installed It, and now It's working Fine.

Only problem Is I am now having an Issue with MONON 2.17 Route, which, normally is not a problem to run.

Telling me "track section22702 Is missing" not sure what to do with this One, everything required to run the Route Is Installed.

                    Many thanks again.

                    Paul.

Paul - Which version of the Track Database are you using in Global ( tsection.dat )?

That piece is in Atracks ( or Xtracks ) so should be in your Gobal Shapes Folder.

Paul - I would check, as some routes might have overwritten with an older version. Just open the tsection.dat file with a text program like word pad and right at the top it should tell you the version. Since that shape is part of Atrack or Xtracks it should show up, no error, unless the tsection is old and does not list that shape.
