    Converting Texture

In the new file stlh_gp9u_v1.1.zip the ace textures are a jumbled mess. Years ago there was a fix to convert them to a regular ace file so they could be re-textured. Does anyone remember how to do this?

Open the shape in the Shape Viewer (SView) and export the texture.

Use the Shape Viewer utility to turn the .ace files to either .tga or .bmp files. Sview will do this automatically depending on whether or not the ace file has an alpha channel.
Load the .s or .eng file in to shape viewer. CRTL+T will open the texture dialog box. Highlight the texture you want to convert, then click the "Export Texture" button on the lower right of the dialog box.

I also wrote a tool to batch-convert ACE files to PNG. And then convert the PNG to DDS,

A set of tools to convert legacy ACE texture files to PNG and then to DDS file for use with Open Rails. - pwillard/Ace2DDS

NOTE: The resulting PNG files do not look messed up, I just checked.

Reskin creator here. Apologies about the brakewheel, I thought I fixed that before release. Future releases will not have that issue, I can promise you that much.

Honestly, if that is all that was missed, no big deal really. Easy fix for a lot of us.
You should see the amount of flawed releases from the early 2000's that never got fixed, including, but mostly, my own work. Haha.

Yeah, there is always that "rush to be done with something you can share" at the end of a project, and you inevitably forget to be extra careful when uploading. Been there, done it, way too many times.
