    Hi, Scott
I noticed another odd mouse behavior in GenX v0.11 Consist Editor. I was editing loose/static consists, to replace missing rolling stock. I really appreciate the X Missing placeholder box you inserted. However, I noticed that when clicking on the picture of rolling stock before or after the X Missing box in the Consist View pane that it wouldn't select the stock I clicked on. Rather, it would select stock 1 or 2 places to the left in the consist. It seems to select the X Missing box when clicked. This behavior seems to occur even after I replace the missing stock. The behavior doesn't occur when clicking the name of the rolling stock in the Consist Units viewing pane. Just the Consist View pane.

More testing information. I also just checked a static consist that had no missing stock. The behavior is occurring there as well. It seems to be happening somewhere around or after the 4th point in the consist. Going back to a "Broken" consist, I can easily click on a X Missing stock regardless of where it occurs in the consist.

I can also replicate this behavior in Consists as well, not just Activity Consists.

This behavior does not appear to occur in Eric's v0.8.006n testing fork.

One thing I'm excited about is procedural track. I'm still trying to figure out how it works, but the latest work Eric, Scott and Goku have done is pretty innovative as far as getting this out there. The only thing I'm wishing for is to point and click and drag track to follow markers until I need a switch. TSC has a decent track laying method, but it's switch making leaves a lot to be desired, for if you barely click at the wrong spot, the switches get messed up. Trainz, eh, is a mixed bag. The track laying is fine, but I'm not fond of the camera moving around so much while you're trying to get to points on the map. If possible, wouldn't mind seeing a hybrid of what's being done here and TSC.

I had something similar happen. I fixed it by adding the track texture to my route/textures folder

                    Hi SJ,

Thanks—the screenshots. We'll need a bit more information:
                    • Is the problem repeatable.
                    • Any more information on how you actually got to this state.
                    • Your actual Windows desktop resolution.
                    • Your Windows display scaling percentage.
                    • Whether the GenX window spans more than one monitor.
                    • Whether all involved monitors use the same scaling percentage.
                    • Your graphics card model.

There appear to be two separate issues.

                    First, the UI color change:

The white panels and dark-red headings indicate that System Theme is enabled. With the normal GenX theme, the panels are dark gray and the headings use the tan/orange color.

                    Please try:

Settings -> System Theme OFF -> restart GenX

That should restore the normal GenX interface colors.

Second, the 3D rendering is genuinely wrong.

The ScaleRail track texture is badly mangled, and the orange grade symbols are also breaking into repeated loops and long vertical streaks. They should only be visible on actual track sections.

Could you please try these checks?

                    1. Turn View -> Grade Symbols OFF. Do all the orange loops and vertical streaks disappear?

                    2. With Grade Symbols off, does the ScaleRail texture remain mangled?

                    3. Raise the camera and look down at the track from a steeper angle. Does the ScaleRail texture become normal?

                    4. Make the same running GenX window substantially narrower, without restarting it. Does anything immediately improve?

                    5. If possible, place a non-ScaleRail track section beside it. Is that track also affected?

Am I missing any other faults you are seeing?

These results should help determine whether this is texture filtering at a shallow viewing angle, a ScaleRail-specific material problem, or a wider viewport/graphics-driver issue.

                    Regards,
                    Scott

Testing in Goku's latest version the issue isn't replicated. Seems to be an issue with Scomod, to my eyes.

Screenshot 2026-08-26 082110.png Same spot, mind. It's perplexing to me because this occurs even after reinstalling SR, and copying to Route Texture folder. I noticed this yesterday and tried resolving it on my own.

                          Hi SJ,

Excellent - that comparison is exactly what we needed.

Since the same route and location render correctly in Goku's TSRE, while both ScaleRail and ordinary track are affected in GenX v0.11, this now appears to be a GenX rendering regression rather than a problem with your ScaleRail installation, route textures or display configuration.

The System Theme issue is resolved separately, and turning Grade Symbols off confirms that the orange artifacts belong to that overlay. The remaining mangled track textures are the actual rendering fault.

No further changes to your route should be necessary at this point. Please retain that test location if possible - I'll compare the GenX v0.11 texture/rendering path against Goku's version and see where the behavior diverged.

Thanks much for working through the tests.

                          Regards,

I'll just add what I experienced (with a caveat that I am a complete noob at route building, and generally have no idea what I'm doing as I'm trying to learn this--including how to properly install track packages, then filter them, and select them, much less place them.....)

The preview pane in TSRE wasn't helping me much in distinguishing between hundreds, if not thousands, of track pieces, so I opened up Shape Viewer to get a better view of this piece:

sr_1tstr_w1.jpg In TSRE GenX preview pane, it looks like this (i.e. brown ballast instead of the grey I wanted)

                            sr_1tstr_w2.jpg

Actually placing the piece gave me the results described above--basically the texture of the shape is that of the terrain (i.e. a satellite image):

                            sr_1tstr_w3.jpg

Putting the ScaleRail textures in the route's texture folder resolved the issue for me, both in the preview pane and in placing the track piece.

The preview pane in TSRE wasn't helping me much in distinguishing between hundreds, if not thousands, of track pieces, so I opened up Shape Viewer to get a better view of this piece:

Actually placing the piece gave me the results described above--basically the texture of the shape is that of the terrain (i.e. a satellite image):

Putting the ScaleRail textures in the route's texture folder resolved the issue for me, both in the preview pane and in placing the track piece.
                              Hi...

Wow - that looks suspiciously similar to the problem posted by SJ. I'll see if I can replicate that on my end. Still does not explain why Goku's version works fine. I have some digging to do. Thanks for the assist!!!

I didn't test in Goku's version. I just assumed it was user error on my end, especially after moving the textures seemed to resolve the problem for me. Looking forward to hearing what you discover
