It's a 19 year old route... You might want to manage your expectations a bit on finding the exact consists, and use some imagination to do replacements.
If you like what you see here at Trainsim.com, be it the discussions and knowledge in the forums, or items available in our library, I hope you'll consider a paid membership to help support keeping the site operating.... Thanks!

The route may have a text file that tells you what you need to download.

It might help you if you were to use a later version of TSRE as well. The version that Eric is working on now includes a facility to show Broken consists plus a full list of the consist that shows what is missing, and if you click on the missing item it also shows you the expected filename and folder.

As Mervyn stated, Eric's WIP TSRE consist editor has an abillity to show what equipment you need to download properly because you may be able to read the text, It is reccomended you use his TSRE so you can read the names of any missing rolling stock.

            Hi,
While Eric's version of the TSRE Consist Editor will show the folder and file names of missing stock, my MSTS_ActMan (file ID 90886) will show similar information and, with respect to Eric, is probably easier to use!

            Cheers,
            Ged

The reason you "Don't Know What Kind Of Rolling Stock" is because you are not using ALL the tools provided by the TSRE Consist Editor. You are only looking at the Lists of Consists and the List of Rolling Stock in YOUR Trainset folders.
What you need is the "Consist Units" list tool. To use the Consist Units list select "View" on the top TSRE-CE menu and from the pulldown select "Consist Units" then your TSRE window will look like mine does below. Notice the middle list; that is the Consist Units list and my missing files show as "[BROKEN] and their filename and folder location will show where I have circled when you select each missing item.

No problem, I did not start using it until after Eric started to make changes to TSRE so was not aware that Goku had already done it.

What it appears that Eric did do was to add the ceWindowLayout = ___ line to the settings file that is distributed with the TSRE install. The program can Display 4 lists which are the Consists list (List of Consists), the Consist Units list (List of the Rolling Stock in the selected Consist), ENG List 1 and ENG List 2 (Both list Rolling Stock in the Trainset with user selectable filters for each ENG/WAG type or ALL (Default) ). These lists are identified by the codes C, U, 1, & 2. So, if the line in the settings.txt was ceWindowLayout = "CU1" when the TSRW-CE opened the Consists List, the Consist Units list and the ENG List 1 would be displayed when TSRE-CE opens. Apparently the ceWindowLayout= line was no in the distributed version before version 8 and the Default was Consits List and Eng List 1. But I remember Goku telling me how to add it when I asked how to make it always open with the 3 lists displayed.

I assume that you have study the readme.txt files that came with the routes and activity(s) that these consiists came from and have determined that you have downloaded and installed ALL the necessary files.

Well now you and we know what you are missing. There are several options: The lazy option is to set back and wait for some kind TrainSimmer to search their Trainset database locate your missing files and either send them to you or tell you where to download them from. That is somewhat of a time consuming task and one of low probability of happening. To do that one would look at your post at the WagonData ( FileName FolderName ) of each item and search their Trainset for the same FolderNames. I just did that and found no matches for any of the 7 FolderNames. I have been a member here for 27 years. I have downloaded a lot of files BUT not every file, just those from RRs I am interested in and from the era of my childhood. And although I took the time to search my data I still could not help you.

There are 2 choices for the do it your self option.
You can take key words from the FolderNames or FileNames such as Railbox, GMO, GM&O, CPR and search the Trainsim file library. Good luck with this option.

Second choice: You could examine each missing item and replace with similar from your Trainset database or download and install a similar item
                        from Trainsim. Example:
                        image.png
HPR probably means Hopper. So any GM&O Hopper wit a coal load will suffice.

                        I recommend the last option.

DWC 403036 is included in the file cnicpack.zip.

ORW is Ohio River & Western, meaning that those cars are likely in a stock pack for the Ohio Rail route. Not sure if they're available here.

If you really can't find any of the other stock, manual replacement is an option. The left name is the name of the WAG file itself, and the right name is the folder name.
