I'm looking to possibly try some repaints and model the Amtrak GP40s based on the Milwaukee Road GP40s from the TrainSimulations Milwaukee Road Trainset pack. I've got Paint.net installed and I've dabbled around with it but I'm kind of lost. If somebody would be willing to give me some pointers and tips Id greatly appreciate it.

First step IMHO is to find as many photos of the locomotives as you can. From every angle possible. That way you can compare the real world locomotive from your virtual repaint as you go along.Kyle

If you are not all that familiar with the repaint process, try entering the phrase below into your browser's AI engine (I used Chrome's Gemini) and you will likely get back a pretty helpful bullet-list summary of the steps to follow along with a suggested list of the tools needed. As has been mentioned, obtaining a host of good photos to be used as reference is an important first step. Have fun!
