There seems to have been a change made which, as soon as you try to log on to the site, throws up a data protection notice and will not allow you progress without accepting the notice. I have found a work around which involves calling up the privacy policy on screen, which then makes the log in / register option active.
I know that US data protection laws are much more 'relaxed' than those in Europe but I wonder whether this change has been part of the anti-bot strategy which has had unforeseen consequences?
