Last week, my wife went thru a knee replacement, which put me into a caregiver role again after having done the same for her parents several years back.

If you've ever done similar, you know there are daily meds, post-op meds, and all sorts of other tasks that have to be done on varying timeframes, none of which ever seem to line up nicely.

I came up with a web app that helps manage some of that... if you've seen Epic, used in hospitals and nursing homes, it provides a "dashboard" that tells you what's due next and what's been issued & by who.

For a home care situation, Epic would be overkill, so I came up with something a bit simpler that multiple caregivers could share a password to without the complications that would present in a licensed healthcare setup. This is also nowhere near HIPPA compliant by design. It's private access, but I won't pretend it's completely bullet proof. That's why it doesn't use an email address or contain any personally identifying information. If someone hacks it, the worst they'll see is a username and a log. They won't have a name.

emmychart.png It's a compact interface to log what's been given, and also helps me track some of the other things I'm doing in support (e.g. swapping out ice on the cooling pad that goes around the joint) as well as how often she's been up and walking. Knowing how much time before the next dose of something has been a Godsend, both in setting expectations as well as planning around that to get other stuff done.

If I'm juggling this many prescription bottles, so are other folks... so... I've made it open to anyone to try..

It's free and available at https://digitalrails.com/chart

It works on a desktop or a mobile phone equally well.
Screenshot_20260623_140823_Chrome.jpg
If you just want to look, use user "demo" and password "demo" or feel free to register with a username that doesn't identify you or your "patient". The "secret" is sort of a safe word you can remember long after you forget a password and need a reset...

The initial screen will be blank for tasks and meds... Click on Setup and you can add any number of meds or tasks, as well as to get reports on individual tasks or meds.

Thinking beyond the caregiving aspects, it could be just as useful for managing pet care, chores for kids (or grandkids), and possibly other purposes I haven't come up with yet.

Let me know if you try it and find bugs... it's still what I'd call an early beta release, but it has not let me down in keeping me on track for the last week.

Anyone else having trouble getting into ET today. Worked fine for me this morning but around 11 it stopped opening for me, I just told to log in. When I try it won't accept my password and when I try the "forgot my password" it takes me to another age where I can enter my email address and I should be sent a one time password but when I hit return it comes up with an error saying the number the sent doesn't match... well, they never actually sent me a number.
